Questions About Changes to the People's Pharmacy Store
The site looks different! Why?
We have upgraded our "shopping cart," the software that supports the
People's Pharmacy Store. You can purchase our books, radio shows and
guides just as before.
When did you change?
We upgraded the People's Pharmacy Store shopping cart software on May 14, 2007.
Why did you change?
The new software provides much better security and protection of
customer information. The new software also allows us to add more
options for our customers. For example, when you purchase a guide, you
can now choose whether to receive a printed brochure by mail or a
downloadable PDF file. Also, now you can choose whether to create a customer account when you order, or simply to order without creating an account.
What does this mean to me?
- Because the store is now using a new system, you will not be able
to view your order history from before May 14, 2007 or download
guides purchased before May 14. If you would like a copy of a guide
you purchased before May 14, email us at guides@peoplespharmacy.com with the name of the guide you purchased, and we will send you a new copy at no charge.
- When you make a future purchase, you will be asked if you want to
“Register & Checkout,” or “Skip Login & Checkout.” If you
register, you will be asked to enter your email address and create a
password for your new account. Then you will be able to view your
ongoing order history and save your shipping address and billing
address.
Registration is optional.
If you do not want to create a password and have the shopping cart to
store your information, click “Skip Login & Checkout.”
Note: if you skip registration,
you will not be able to view your ongoing order history or download
additional copies of purchased Guides.
Can I use the same password I had before?
No, you must create a new password. The new password must be at least 5
characters long. We strongly suggest that you create a password with at
least 8 characters containing one or more capital and lower case
letters, at least one number, and at least one “special” character such
as ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) { } [ ] : “ ; ‘ < > ? or / , rather
than a “weak” password such as a word, birthday, spouse’s name, etc.
Why is the password so complicated?
We take the security of your information very seriously. A simple way
to improve security is to use a “strong” password. While no security
system today is perfect, a simple password that’s easy to remember is a
bit like leaving your car keys in the ignition. It takes very little
effort to guess a simple password. Just as it takes very little effort
to drive away in that car!
How do I make a purchase?
First, find the product you wish to buy, and click the button
labeled "Add to Cart". You will see the name of the product and a
running total in the "minicart" on the right side of the screen. When
you are ready to place your order, click the word "Checkout" in the
minicart. Follow the instructions to enter your shipping and payment
information.
I can't find the page I am looking for.
We hope that the new store is intuitive enough that you will be able to
find the information you need even though page addresses have changed.

I want to check the status of an order I placed before, but I don't see it in my order history.
The new shopping cart software only includes records of orders placed
on or after May 14. However, we have an archived record of all order
histories. If you need information about an order placed before May 14, contact us as support@peoplespharmacy.com and we will send you your order information.
Is my information safe?
Improving security is one of the main reasons we upgraded our shopping
cart. The shopping cart uses a secure certificate with 128 bit
encryption, on a server installed behind an enterprise level firewall.
Your credit card is not stored in our system after your purchase is
complete, and administrative passwords are changed regularly.
Have your prices changed?
Our prices have not changed. However, we have simplified our shipping
rates. This may cause your total
cost to change when ordering a book or CD. In most cases, especially book orders, your shipping cost will now be lower.
